John Nevins (J.N.) Andrews 1829-1883 J.N. Andrews J.N. Andrews was one of the greatest Biblical scholars of modern times. He committed the entire New Testament and portions of the Old Testament to memory. He was able to read the New Testament in seven languages. He discovered important Biblical truths, like the correct time to observe the Sabbath (sunset Friday to sunset Saturday). He was the first official Seventh-day Adventist missionary outside of North America, traveling to Basel, Switzerland to start a publishing work there. The name of our school reminds our students of the importance of selfless service to the cause of Christ, whether our mission field be around the world or around the block. It is also a constant reminder to our students of the importance of diligent Bible study.
